6 journalists among 14 killed in Tanzania road crash

Fourteen people, including six journalists, were killed and several others injured after a car crashed into a PSV while on tour with Mwanza Regional Commissioner Robert Gabriel in Nyamikola, Busega District, Simiyu Province.

The Busega District Commissioner, Garbriel Zakaria, confirmed the accident and said that four journalists and their driver and seven other PSV people died on the spot.

“It is true that the accident is now the life of . demanded fourteen people; 11 people died on the spot, “said Mr. Zakaria.

A few minutes after the injured were brought to the NASA health center, three more died.”

The journalists who died were identified as Johari Saan, Husna Mlanzi from ITV, Van Charles from Icon TV, Abel Ngapemba, Regional Communication Officer, Anthony Chuwa from Habari Leo Digital, Steven Msengi, Ukerewe Communications Officer and Paul Silanga, the driver.

< p> President Samia Suluhu Hassan wrote a message of condolences to the families of the deceased on her Twitter account.

“I am shocked at the deaths of 14 people, including six journalists, who died this morning after a car , in which they were traveling, collided with a PSV. I offer my condolences to families, journalists and friends who have lost loved ones. May God rest the souls of the deceased in peace and heal the wounded quickly, ”wrote President Samia.
