Africa’s Covid-19 cases surpass 8.1m: Africa CDC

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Africa reached 8.1 million on Saturday afternoon, announced the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

The Africa CDC, the specialized health agency of the African Union, stated in its continental Covid-19 dashboard that the death toll from the pandemic across the continent is 206,202.

around 7,454,718 patients across the continent have so far recovered from the disease.

South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia and Ethiopia are among the countries with the highest number of cases on the continent, according to the agency.

In terms of case numbers, southern Africa is the strongest affected region, followed by the northern and eastern parts of the continent, while Central Africa is the least affected, according to the Africa CDC th affected region of the continent.
