It started on Monday when Prime Minister Roble served as the Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Fahad Yasin, which immediately overruled Farmaajo.
Roble ignored Farmaajo’s testimony and waited to preside over a ceremony for his candidate for NISA chief, General Bashir, within three days Mohamed Jama to take up his post.
Instead, Yasin resigned from his position as NISA director just one day later r back, which Farmaajo willingly accepted and replaced him with Yasin Abdullahi Mohamud, who until then was the comma of NISA operations in the Banadir region (Mogadishu and the surrounding area).
The Mohamud appointed by Farmaajo wasted no time when he took office while Fahad Yasin, who was in Turkey, virtually took part in the handover ceremony on Wednesday and gave up his powers.
With that, General Jama, the man Roble had elected head of the espionage agency, had no chance to go to NISA headquarters and take over the post.
The problem between the President and the Prime Minister’s offices worsened when Roble fired Homeland Security Minister Hassan Hundubey. Within hours, Farmaajo canceled Hundubey’s dismissal by the prime minister and his replacement with Abdullahi Mohamed Nur, a member of the outgoing federal parliament.
Both Farmaajo and Roble have cited articles in the interim constitution to defend themselves their actions.
