The Rwandan film Lend Me Your Voice recently celebrated its world premiere at DOK.fest Munich, one of the largest annual documentary film festivals in Germany.
Director: Claudine Shenge Ndimbira , Lend me Your Voice is a 19 minute 2021 film in Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, English and French with English and French subtitles.
The story revolves around Akilli Nadege , born in Congo but now a Burundian refugee who flees her homeland but is captured and tortured before finally settling in Rwanda. The story consists of five chapters and is told by strangers who read their story as if it were their own.
Dual Mode
DOK-Fest featuring 124 films from 55 countries Munich, which launched on May 4th, introduced its first dual mode this year to accommodate both physical and virtual audiences worldwide.
Some of Ndimbira’s previous film projects include Special Thieves , on which she was script director, My Mother-My Hero, and her first short film Hora Mama, Iwacu mu Muryango.
After the night Completing her international class at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Germany, between 2017 and 2018, Ndimbira produced the film Nzaza, with the help of the department of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
