Kenya’s Kwanza Brigade had an embarrassing moment on Friday as Deputy President William Ruto signed the Women’s Charter at Nyayo Stadium.
An evangelist suffered a slip of the tongue during prayer while referring to the DP Ruto involved -led coalitions such as the Kenya Kwisha Alliance.
Kenya Kwisha is a deliberate corruption of the coalition name Kenya Kwanza, often used by some opposition bloggers.
The event attended Women’s groups from all parts of the world and the country.
Evangelist Jane Wairimu, as she introduces herself, is from the larger A.I.P.C. in Nairobi.
She had been invited on stage by Kandara MP Alice Wahome to follow the arrival of Dr. Preceding Ruto with a word of prayer.
The passionate evangelist took over the microphone and, without much ado, began to greet hundreds of women before praying, having only been given three minutes.
< h2>A bit confused
During the prayer, the evangelist was a bit confused about the political conditions.
“We want to reach an agreement with the Kenya Kwisha… with the Kenya Kwanza Women.
This happened in front of Ruto and his fellow campaigner Rigathi Gachagua, who were surprised and looked embarrassed.
The term Kenya Kwisha was trending on Twitter within minutes when some opposition bloggers infiltrated the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
However, the confusion is common and has happened to other people, including Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.
Ms. Waiguru once referred to Kenya Kwanza as Azimio in one of the big events that were brought together all leaders of the alliance.
