Police investigate death of journalist Gatonye Gathura

His body was found in the Kihoto, Naivasha area a month ago.

Nakuru Sub-District Police Commander Samuel Waweru said the body, which was picked up on October 26, was in taken to the Naivasha Hospital morgue and booked as an unknown person.

Fingerprints were then taken for verification.

“The results of the identification process were released on November 12, 2021,” said Mr Waweru.

A family member who visited the morgue yesterday said the health and science clerk was not easy to identify due to rot.

A relative also confirmed that the journalist was Lived alone at the time of his disappearance.

“We will visit the morgue tomorrow (Friday) and then make a statement,” added the family member.
