In a statement released Monday afternoon, President Kenyatta said the reports touching the fortunes of his family and other heads of state would go a long way toward improving financial transparency and openness in Kenya and around the world.
“The flow of illicit funds, the proceeds of crime and corruption thrive in an environment of secrecy and darkness,” he said.
He also indicated that following up on such a financial audit would help Uncover inexplicable wealth.
“The Pandora Papers and subsequent audits will lift this veil of secrecy and darkness for those who cannot explain their fortune or wealth,” said President Kenyatta.
