Nation Editor John Kamau is one of 502 Kenyans to receive awards and honors from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mr. Kamau, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Nation for Special Projects, was awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning awarded Spear (MBS).
In a Gazette statement, the President recognized the outstanding achievements of the Kenyans and awarded them various titles.
Among those who received awards , Waita Nzioka is the head of the Presidential Delivery Unit. He was awarded a Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (MGH).
Mr. Paul Ndung’u, who authored the popular Ndungu Report assessing the problem of land and transplants in the country, was also awarded awarded a similar title.

Ms. Kanze Dena, who the Spokesperson is for the Office of the President, who has been decorated with a Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (C.B.S.). Other persons recognized with the same title are President of the Court of Appeals Daniel Musinga and Judge of the Court of Appeals Isaac Lenaola.
Orders, decorations and medals of Kenya are normally bestowed by the President in recognition of outstanding and distinguished service to the Nation.
They are issued in consultation with the National Honors and Awards Committee, working in the President’s Office.
