2023: Fayemi in Borno, Yobe, Promises Quick End to Insurgency, Banditry – Legit.ng

  • Governor Kayode Fayemi has stated that he will bring his experience to ensure Nigeria witnesses peace when he becomes President
  • The governor made the remark while conferring with Yobe and Borno state delegates ahead of the APC’s presidential election – Ekiti State Governor and a leading All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi received the support of the Yobe and Borno state delegates, even as he has promised to prioritize insurgency and banditry and end them if given an opportunity to serve.

    Others include Senator Domingo Obende and Nigerian Guidance Authority Director General Mallam Garba Abari.

    Governor Fayemi said:

    “We will build on the legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari and urgently fill the identified gaps. Security will be high on my agenda as a security professional.

    “I have a Ph.D. in war studies and as an advisor to Nigeria under President Olusegun Obasanjo, I was heavily involved in resolving the wars in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Rwanda and Sri Lanka.

    “We have a template that we will use to bring peace to our people so that we can farm in peace, go to school in peace, and live in peace. If I can do it outside, why not for the country that gave me everything?”

    Borno State APC Chairman Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori said that the Governor of the state Ekiti is a preferred candidate for president for the people of the state because of his qualities.

    He said:

    “What you for all the chairmen under me as Hairman of all the heads of the APC states in the country has done is unprecedented and it has nothing to do with ambition. This is the heart of a caring leader and our love for you is from the heart and we will demonstrate it by supporting you.”

    In Yobe, Governor Mai Mala Buni said was represented by the deputy, and all prosecutors told Governor Fayemi not to waste energy selling ice cream to Icelanders because they would support his presidential bid.

    Governor Fayemi had previously provided an insight into why there is so much interest from candidates for the august seat of the Presidency on the APC’s platform.

    Governor Fayemi had previously announced that he will decentralize governance if he is elected Nigeria’s next president.

    Fayemi made the comment when he spoke on Wednesday, May 4, in Abuja, announced his ambitions as president.

    He also expressed confidence in winning the APC presidential ticket through either direct or indirect primaries.
