Despite submitting a name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Der presidential candidate Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has announced that he is still searching for his comrade-in-arms.
Tinubu made this known in Abuja when delivering his keynote speech at the celebration of the 60th birthday held House Speaker Hon Femi Gbajabiamila reports Channels TV.
The presidential candidate is also in heaps ed praises the speaker for his contributions to his political ambition to become Nigeria’s president and democracy, added the Tribune Newspaper.
“I could also see a MP (Wase) sitting down there, you are very good symbols of unity, reliability and honesty, thank you.” Thank you for both of you, you didn’t rock the boat. I need to learn from you two how you made the couple work because I’m still looking for my running mate.
“What you did during my primary (APC presidential election) is a story for another day. I’ve spent too much time on it too many times, and people might be bored, they might be jealous, they might be jealous. I won a landslide, thank you.
“Femi, with your determination and reach you are contributing to our democratic growth, thank you. It’s about finding a path to success, you’ve done a great job and I say thank you, thank you.”
Influential governor talks about becoming Tinubu’s running mate
Meanwhile, the Plateau state government has responded to report that the state governor has relinquished governance while pursuing vice presidential ambitions.
According to the state government, the report released by a news outlet entitled How Governor Lalong left the plateau for Lagos desperately lobbied and squandered state resources to become Tinubu’s running mate – sources are a fabrication.
The government in a statement read:
“This report, which is the perfect case study for fake news, yellow journalism, sponsored side jobs and irresponsible reporting Reimbursement deserves absolutely no response but to save right thinking members that society is not misled by this horrible product which is an epic case of abuse e of the noble profession of journalism.”
