61st Founder’s Day: UNN Announces Governor Udom Emmanuel As Guest Speaker

Uyo – The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, has appointed the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, as a guest Spokeswoman for her Founding Day 2021.

The announcement was made on Sunday, October 3rd, during a courtesy visit to the governor in the Uyo government building by Prof. Bennett Nwanguma, Chairman of the Senate, made the Committee of Ceremonies, UNN.

Governor Emmanuel, who issued the invitation to the event On Thursday, October 7th, he thanked the University Community Delegation for ordering him to speak on the occasion. He said the meeting would be one Be an opportunity to interact and share knowledge and experiences that will be of use to the university community.

Regarding the university’s contributions to nation building, Governor Emmanuel claimed that Nigeria can master its challenges, if a moral rebirth takes responsibility in the minds of the people, the country will be better off.

He said:

“We have to send a message that we can fix the problem, we have to reorganize the system and get things done, we shouldn’t let many things deteriorate in our country and the only way to do this is by To pass on information en where we try to have a moral rebirth in our people and trust in our people that we must move forward and if we don’t fix it, no one will do it for us. ”

Professor Nwanguma said earlier that the Founders Day Ceremony was an annual event at which the founder of the prestigious institution is commemorated and honored, with a special tribute to Nigeria’s first President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, and his generation of Nigerian leaders.

He thanked Governor Emmanuel and the members of his cabinet for the warm welcome and hospitality he and his team received and expressed the gratitude of the UNN community for the acceptance of the governor at the event.

Meanwhile, Governor Emmanuel has vowed to complete all ongoing projects in Akwa Ibom before leaving power in 2023.

The governor made the pledge on Friday, August 20th, speaking as a special guest of honor at a breakfast meeting with the Christian Association of Nigeria in Akwa Ibom State.

He also took the opportunity to call on Christian leaders to support his government in fervent prayers to be To realize a vision that is anchored in the 8-point agenda for the Akwa Ibom people.
