The untimely death of Yinka Odumakin was foreseen. Prayers were organised to avert this but despite this, the rights activist still lost the battle.
The prophecy angle was revealed by an elder brother of Yinka Odumakinto the deceased, Punch reports.
According to Pastor Jacob Odumakin, the prophecy had revealed impending death of the right activist who later lost the battle with COVID-19.
He also revealed that the news broke the heart of Yinka’s parents with the mother inconsolable.
“There was a prophecy that we should pray for Yinka so that fresh tree would not fall instead of the dry one. What that means is that our dad, who is 115 years old, is alive and 56-year-old, the last child of our father is gone.”
Meanwhile, he said the family has been informed that Afenifere would organise the burial of the late activist.
She said her husband fought well at the intensive care unit before he gave up. She consequently Nigerians to pray for her because she did not know how to survive the disaster.
“A part of me is gone. A part of me is gone. He fought hard at the intensive care unit. Pray for me to survive this. My love is gone.
In another report, President Muhammadu Buhari commiserated with the family and friends of Yinka Odumakin, the national publicity secretary of Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere.
The Afenifere spokesman died on Saturday, April 3, at the intensive care unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he was being treated for respiratory issues due to COVID-19 complications.
President Buhari, in a statement released by one of his aides, Femi Adesina, expressed sorrow at the death of the human rights activist, who according to him still had more to contribute to the nation at large.
