Residents in the area made the discovery on Saturday morning, Jan May 7, during a search after he was declared missing.

A local resident, identified simply as Odion Rufus, announced that the incident was reported to police was taken while family members went in search of the father, reports the Daily Trust.

Rufus said:

“During the week we met from 20:00 to 00:00 o’clock in the bush around the pipeline extension area but we couldn’t locate it.

“On Saturday morning we conducted another search round around the same location and we were about to give up as one of us advised to extend the search to an unfinished building. We encountered his body with injuries to the head that appeared to have been hit by some firewood found near the body. His body was taken to the morgue.”
