Rivers – Rivers State Accountant Fubara Siminayi has been declared a wanted person on charges of economic and financial crimes by the EFCC.

Siminayi and 58 others are now on EFCC charges on the trail of alleged $435 billion in fraud, Punch reports.

The state’s AGF and four government officials are being arrested on suspicion of N117 billion in fraud, suspected criminal conspiracy, money laundering, embezzlement of public funds and abuse of office.

This was on duty ag, May 24, by the head of the Media and Public Information Commission, Wilson Uwujaren.

Uwujaren warned the public to help the EFCC with useful information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects

He said:

“We are calling on anyone with useful information regarding the whereabouts of the Account General to contact a Agency offices or the nearest police station or other security agency.”

EFCC arrests Account General of Federation Ahmed Idris for N80 billion fraud

< p class=" align-left">Meanwhile, the EFCC had arrested the acting Comptroller General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, in connection with alleged N80 billion in diversion of funds and money laundering activities.

The Commission indicated that their verified information showed, i that the AGF collected the funds through bogus consulting firms and other illegal activities using proxies, family members and close associates.

Following the ongoing investigation and the suspension of the Federation’s Accountant General, Ahmad Idris, President Muhammadu Buhari made a new appointment.

On Sunday, May 22, the President approved the appointment of Anamekwe Chukwunyere Nwabuoku to oversee the affairs and activities of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Federation.
