Alleged ‘Fake Prophecy’: Nigerian Police Arrest Prominent Edo Cleric, Gives Reason –

Edo State Police Command said it arrested Benson Nosakhare, who posed as a prophet to deceive members of the public.

According to a PM News report, the command made this disclosure through a statement released Thursday, May 5, in Benin by its public relations officer, SP Kontongs Bello.

Bello said the suspect’s arrest followed a petition by one of his victims, Mr. Thomson Osamudiamen, to the State’s Co-Police Officer CP Abutu Yaro.

How he cheated the victim out of his only car

He explained that the victim had complained about being hypnotized by the suspect who picked up his car, The Punch added .

Bello stated:

“According to the victim, the suspect is among those disguised as a prophet, claiming he has him seen in a vision where he had an accident with his Lexus ES350 car sowing seeds for the Lord, which he did.

“The victim said after coming to his senses he remarked that the suspect had already changed the color of the car from gold to black and it was ready to use.”

Suspect’s items

The police spokesman, who disclosed that two Lexus cars, ES350 and RX350, were recovered during a search of the suspect’s residence, saying the suspect confessed to the crime and will be charged in court.
