Igbokwe announced this on his Facebook page Tuesday July 20, hours after the news of Igboho’s arrest.

Recalls that Igboho was arrested by security forces in the Republic of Benin about three weeks after the Department of State Services declared him wanted on alleged weapons stores – one Claim that he has since denied.

Igboho’s lawyer reveals How Interpol arrested the Yoruba activist and his German wife
It was reported that Igboho’s lawyer Yomi Alliyu (SAN) announced on Tuesday, July 20th that his client had tried to catch a flight to Germany with his German wife when agents from Interpol tracked them down and arrested them.
The lawyer referred to Igboho’s arrest as shocking and unjust and added that the German government, together with the international community, should stand up against it
