Borno, Maiduguri – New reports have confirmed that a kidnapped woman, Habiba Baffa, who is the wife of Usman Baffa, Chair of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Magama Local Government Chapter in Niger, has been rescued from captivity.
PMNews reported that Mrs Baffa was originally kidnapped in Minna, the capital of Niger, and found at a popular Kano car park in Borno state en.
Umar said Ms Baffa was taken to the police headquarters and after an investigation it was revealed that four unidentified gunmen removed her from her home in the Tunga area of the State capital Minna was kidnapped and found in Borno.
Police told her husband, Mr. Baffa was contacted immediately and he came all the way from Minna to meet up with his wife again unite.
“The attention of commando men was brought to the attention of the Chair of the National Union of Road Transport around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday Workers, a woman named Habiba Baffa, at Kano Motor Park.”
The victim recounts her ordeal
Speaking to journalists about her ordeal, Ms Baffa how the unidentified gunmen broke into her home at 5 a.m. in the early hours of the morning and asked for her husband.
She said during the invasion, the gunmen demanded a huge ransom, which she gave them before being asked to board the vehicle. She said she woke up to find she was in Borno State.
In response to the incident, Mr Baffa expressed his gratitude to the Borno State Police Command for their role while helping to save his wife.
Mr Baffa said:
“The kidnapping was aimed at me but since they couldn’t find me they took take my wife with me.
“To be honest, I couldn’t sleep or eat, I was very traumatized. I can’t imagine being without my wife.”
Nigerian Army Discovers Kidnapped Chibok Schoolgirl in Borno
Similarly, one of the schoolgirls was found from Chibok kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists In 2014, Mary Ngoshe was discovered by the Nigerian army.
The discovery was made in Borno on Tuesday 14 June by troops from the 26th Task Force Brigade in Borno did a patrol.
Police say Ngoshe was found in a Twitter post with a small child believed to be hers.
Guns kidnap CAN leader in northern state
In another development, gunmen kidnapped CAN leader in Jos East local government of Plateau state, Rev. James Kantoma, kidnapped.
The chairman of the Christian body in the state, Polycarp Lubo said Kantoma was kidnapped right at his home.
The police command in the state, through its spokesman, Alabo Alfred, conf rmed the incident and said officials were deployed used to track down and arrest the kidnappers.
