Kaduna State – Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA ) has responded to death threats received by Abdulrasheed Bawa, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Daily Trust reports that Mohammed Salihu Danlami, the AYA spokesman said the group is ready to fight anyone who threatens the head of the anti-transplant agency.
Danlami speaks at a press conference on Thursday 17th Kaduna stated that any attack or threat against the EFCC chairman is a threat to her, adding that they all stand behind Bawa, Leadership added .
While Bawa should not be deterred from doing the right thing, the AYA spokesman said they will be forced to investigate whoever made the threat has.
He also said that the group would use the law to deal with the person in order to discourage any other person who had such ideas.
The group emphasized that the threat with Bawa was a setback in the fight against corruption, the country below was behind the extortion.
EFCC chief yells over death threats
Previously, Bawa said he frequently received death threats while fighting corruption in Nigeria.
The head of the anti-corruption agency stated this in an interview on Tuesday June 15th during a television broadcast.

EFCC reveals Bawa’s personal Facebook account
Meanwhile, the EFCC announced that its chairman only has a Facebook account. It was reported that the commission announced the disclosure in a statement on Facebook on Sunday the 6th.
