Former Lagos State Governor and presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has responded to the gruesome killing of worshipers at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.

Tinubu calls for immediate action by law enforcement

The Loyalists of the APC also demanded the arrest of the evil perpetrators, so that they may be subjected to the full measure of law and justice.

He said:

“I urge the police and security agencies to do everything in their Power to do something to investigate this attack, arrest the evil perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“ There is no place in our country for such hatred and wanton killing of innocent people.< /blockquote>

“No one can see the darkness in the minds of those who will kill people for merely the harmless practice of their beliefs.

“This violent attack has shaken the nation’s conscience and the Destroyed peace of this ancient city.”

Tinubu calls for unity amid tragic incident

Tinubu further explained that the killers’ evil act was an attempt to distort the unity of the country.

He said:

“We must join forces so that together we can eradicate this evil from our nation. We owe it to ourselves and to those who lost their lives in this heinous attack.

“Violent extremism and insecurity seek to bring us down. We must continue to do everything we can to meet the heinous challenge of Nigeria becoming its better self. The architects of violence should only seal their own fate, not the fate of this nation or the peace-loving people who inhabit it.”

Tinubu also called on Nigerians to stand up and To show condolences to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and to the families of the victims of the attack and the residents of Owo and Ondo.

“I, too, mourn and offer my condolences to the pastors and leaders of St. Francis Catholic Church.

“I urge the people of the state to remain calm and peaceful.

“May God watch over this republic and the people of Nigeria so that such evils may be wiped out quickly and forever becomes the country.”

In another development, Senator Shehu Sani, the central Representing the Kaduna Senatorial District has responded to the Owo shooting.

Senator Sani, in Response to the Attack , shared his opinion on what actually led to the attack by unidentified gunmen.

The PDP leader took to his official Facebook page and revealed that the terrorists planned to wreak havoc in the country and cause a national war.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the heinous killing of believers on Sunday 5 June at St Francis Catholic Church in Owa-luwa Street, Kingdom Owo, in Ondo State.

The President says that only fiends from the sub-region could have conceived and carried out such a dastardly deed, adding that eternal sorrows abound both here expected on earth as well as ultimately in the afterlife.

Buhari made the announcement in a statement provided by his Special Advisor for Media and Public Relations, Femi Adesina.< /p>
