A lecturer at Kaduna Polytechnic who was kidnapped by bandits along with her daughter and driver Dr. Rahmatu Abarshi has been released.
Tijjani Ramalan, Chairman of Liberty TV, announced Thursday morning, May 19, that the lecturer has been released but her daughter Ameerah and the driver have been released are still in captivity, Vanguard reports.

On April 24, 2022, bandits kidnapped the lecturer, her daughter and her driver as she was returning from the Mariri community in the state’s Lere Local Government Area .
She was gone as part of her “Barkindo Rahama Initiative” when they were attacked by bandits who later demanded N100 million ransom.
Their release has been further confirmed
Abdallah Isma’il Abdallah, The Administrator of the Dr. Abarshi-based Barkindo Rahama Initiative confirmed the lecturer’s release on Tuesday evening, May 18, but did not say how much ransom was paid for her release.
He said after she regained her freedom on Tuesday evening, she was taken to an undisclosed hospital for a medical examination.
“ Her daughter and the driver are always still in captivity.”
