President Muhammadu Buhari has submitted an official motion to the Senate to confirm Mohammed Bello Shehu as head of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The motion was contained in a letter that Senate President Ahmad Lawan read in plenary on Wednesday, June 22.
“In accordance with the provision of Section Pursuant to Article 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, I am pleased to forward the appointment of Mohammed Bello Shehu as Chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission for confirmation by the Senate.
“His CV is attached here.
“I hope that the Senate will consider and approve the nominee in the usual expeditious manner.”
Also Lawan directed the President’s request Buhari to the Committee on Works to confirm the nomination of Joe Aniku Michael Ohiani for appointment as Director General/CEO of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
Also Forwarded was the President’s request for the confirmation of Umar Yahaya as co-chair of the Governing Council of Unclaimed Funds of the Committee on Banks, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions.
Both nominees are expected to be Appear before the relevant committees for review.
The respective committees had two weeks to report to the Senate in plenary.
