Breaking: Daredevil Gunmen Abduct CAN Chairman In Northern State – Legit.ng

  • Guns have kidnapped the chairman of the CAN in the local government of Jos East, Plateau State, Rev. James Kantoma.

Jos East LGA, Plateau – Rev. James Kantoma, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Jos East Municipality, Plateau State, was kidnapped by gunmen.

News of Kantoma’s kidnapping was released by the chairman by CAN in Polycarp Lubo State, who revealed that the criminals arrested the clergyman on Monday, June 13, from his home to an undisclosed location, The Nation reports.

Lubo said:

“Si Since the gunmen took Reverend Father we haven’t heard from him or the kidnappers until this afternoon.

“That’s so sad. But we pray for him that no harm befalls him wherever he is.”

Alabo Alfred, spokesman for the Plateau police command, confirmed the development to the force’s officials anti-kidnapping unit dispatched to the community.

He said:

“Our men are already working to ensure that Reverend Father is restored to his freedom and arrest those behind the kidnapping.”

Armed men kidnap a prominent Nigerian cleric, a woman, a driver

Meanwhile, he kidnaps Bishop of Anglican Diocese, Jebba, Kwara State, Rt. Rev. Aderogba, his wife and driver were abducted by gunmen along the Oyo/Ogbomoso expressway on Sunday 12 June.

The cleric and his wife were on their way to Yewa, Ogun State, when the armed n Forced criminals to stop the vehicle and ordered them into a waiting car.

The horrific incident was confirmed by the state’s police spokesman, PPRO Adewale Osifeso.

Regarding the attack, Osifeso said:

“On Sunday, June 12, 2022, around 9:00 p.m., Rev. Adekunle Adeluwa reported to the command with an incident report at the police headquarters of the Atiba Division, City of Oyo that around 20:30 One Bishop Rt. Rev. Aderogba of Jebba Diocese, Kwara State was abducted accompanied by his wife and driver…”
