BREAKING: FG Finally Lifts Suspension on Twitter Operations in Nigeria – Legit.ng

The federal government has lifted the suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria with the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The decision was announced by the chairman Nigeria-Twitter Engagement Technical Committee and Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE.

Kashifu said in a statement in Abuja that the approval was received following a message from the Minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim, presented to the President.

He said: “The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) is in charge to inform the public that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria effective January 13, 2022 at 12:00 noon.

” The approval was following a communication from the Minister for Communication and Digital Economy to the President omy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim.

“In the memo, the Minister updated and asked the President to approve the repeal based on the recommendation of the Nigeria-Twitter Engagement Technical Committee. “
