In a recent heavy attack, terrorists from the Islamic State Province of West Africa entered Damboa on Thursday, November 18. in the southern part of the state of Borno.
The attack, the third within a month, takes place just six days after a general and three other officers of the Nigerian army in Chibok / Askira Uba im South Borno, Damboa, another neighboring local government area.
Punch reports that available details show that the terrorist s invaded on Friday, November 19 at around 5:30 am the town.
The terrorists are said to have set fire to houses and other property in the community before they left.
According to the witnesses, despite the bitter struggle to evict the community, no people were killed in the attack.
It is also important to note that Damboa is a community in the Is close to Sambisa and has been the constant target of several attacks by ISWAP terrorists.
HumAngle b established that troops of the Nigerian army on Friday, November 19, fended off the attack by members of the ISWAP in Damboa.
The city is in close proximity to the dreaded Alagarno and forest areas Sambisa, in which insurgents operate.
However, the military’s resistance to the terrorist attack resulted in the deaths of several members of the group.
The group members are said to have withdrawn from the city after the attack by the Nigerian military.
Nigerian military loses general, officers in ISWAP attack
Some of the terrorists and their weapons were recovered and destroyed during an arms duel with military forces on Saturday November 13th.
However, the Nigerian military lost a brigadier-general Dzarma Dzarma Zirkusu and three other soldiers during the attack.
Authorities urged jets to be deployed in some locations in Borno
In other news: A civil JTF member Yakubu Luka has urged the Nigerian government to deploy fighter jets to support the ground soldiers in the fight against terrorists in the state of Borno.
Luka in his S OS said in a long convoy of gun cars along the Ngude axis towards Askira in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 13th.
He said that the request had previously been sent to the authorities, but nothing had to be done on this matter.
