David Umahi of Ebonyi, the Governor of Ebonyi, suspended Orlando Nweze, the State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development on Wednesday 15 June.
According to a statement communicating Governor Umahi’s decision, the suspension was prompted by “the Commissioner’s inability to perform his duties effectively”.
The notice was signed by Secretary of State (SSG), Kenneth Ugbala, The Nation reports.
The Governor ordered Nweze to surrender all government property in his possession to the Secretary of State at permanent Secretary of the Ministry to be handed in after work on Wednesday.
The explanation read in part:
“Please ensure that this policy is strictly followed.”
