An unnamed Chief Superintendent of Police openly opposed the order of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to vacate the state’s Magodo Phase 2 property on Tuesday.
The CSP informed the governor that he and his armed colleagues were on the premises on the orders of the Police Inspector General Usman Baba; as well as the Federation Prosecutor General Abubakar Malami (SAN).
Sanwo-Olu had caused members of his cabinet to visit residents to protest the continued presence of armed police The property.
For days, police escorted suspected land grabbers and family members who had planned to demolish properties on the exquisite property in order to enforce a Supreme Court judgment. The development caused a stir on the property as landlords and tenants panic about their fate.
The residents then called on the governor to intervene and visited Sanwo-Olu the scene on Tuesday and told the head of the police delegation that the land matter was a case between private individuals and the state government.
Sanwo-Olu said, “Can you call your superiors in Abuja and? Tell them that the governor is here and that you have no business right now as Chief Security Officer in my state and that I want you to retire immediately? “
But the unnamed CSP replied, “I am here on the orders of the Inspector General of the Police through the AGF. I am too short or too low to call them. Your Excellency, sir, you can call them sir.
