Justice Mary is the wife of Dr. Peter Odili, who was Governor of Rivers State from 1999 to 2007.

Born 12 May 1952 in Amudi Obizi, Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria, attended Justice Odili the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu Campus, where she studied law between 1972 and 1976.

She was rated top student in the 1976 Department of Commercial and Property Law. She graduated from Nigerian Law School between 1976-1977 and was admitted to the bar in July 1977. She then served in Abeokuta and Benin.
