A well-known Islamic scholar in Kano, Dr. Ahmad Bamba, has died at the age of 79.
His son Ahmad Ahmad confirmed the death, saying his father died Friday morning at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, the Nigerian Daily reported .
His funeral is to take place after Friday prayers in the Darul Hadith Juma’at mosque.
The late Dr. Bamba was famous for his long-standing Islamic courses at Bayero University, Kano Mosque, which began in 1991.
He was a lecturer at the Institute for Arabic in BUK before he resigned, to focus on his sermons.
