College provost Queried for Suspending Students Over Failure to Welcome Buhari

  • The Borno State government responded to the suspension of a Nigerian student for failing to team up to greet President Buhari

Borno State – The Provost, College of Nursing and Midwife, Rukaiya Shettima Mustapha has filed a motion to suspend some students on the pretext that they had failed to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari with their colleagues.

This was announced in a statement shared on the Facebook page t given to the Borno state government on Friday June 25th.

Juliana, in a letter dated June 25, distanced herself from Mustapha’s actions, saying she acted alone .

The commissioner described the provost as mischievous and added that she made such a decision without consulting an official from her ministry and without instructions from anyone in the state government .

She said that while it is normal practice for students to participate in greeting guest presidents, such acts are voluntary.

The Commissioner expressed concern that the provost may have used the President’s visit to reach some students with whom she may have had problems.

President Buhari visits Maiduguri for important assignments < / h2>

Recall that President Buhari i n Maiduguri, the capital of the state of Borno, has arrived to some of the state government.

The president’s jet landed on Thursday, June 17th at 11:00 am Wing of the Nigerian Air Force at Maiduguri International Airport.

The president was received by the state governor Professor Babagana Zulum, members of the national and state parliaments, service officers, among others.

Nigerian student allegedly suspended for not welcoming Buhari

Previously, Legit.ng reported that a Nigerian student received a letter of suspension from a college for not welcoming the Nigerian President on his last visit to Borno on June 17th.

A copy of the suspension letter shared by @ instablog9ja on Instagram states that the penalty in effect on June 21 kicked. The student’s identity could not be verified.
