According to a According to Sahara Reporters, Professor Ibrahim Maqari, an Islamic cleric and deputy chief imam at Abuja National Mosque, supported the lynching by her colleagues of Deborah Samuel Yakubu, a Christian student at Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto.
The cleric Zara, who performed the wedding of President Muhammad Buhari’s daughter, revealed that Muslim s should not be held responsible for harming those who offended the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Professor Maqari’s position on the student’s death
Maqari took his verified Twitter handle and wrote:
“Everyone should know that we are Muslims have some red lines that MUST NOT be crossed. The Dignity of the Prophet (PBUH) is at the forefront of the Redlines.
“If our grievances are not dealt with appropriately, we should not be criticized for raising them ourselves.”
The post comes one day after Deborah was killed and burned by her peers for allegedly insulting the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Blasphemy: Police Arrest 2 Suspects for Killing College Student in Sokoto Shehu Shagari College of Education has continued to voice reactions from multiple authorities.
A recent response has come from senior Nigerian police in Sokoto, stating that two suspects in the criminal act have been arrested.
Police of the state also said that students at the facility overpowered security guards in the room where she was being held for safety, be before they killed her and burned her.
