According to a According to Sahara Reporters, Professor Ibrahim Maqari, an Islamic cleric and deputy chief imam at Abuja National Mosque, supported the lynching by her colleagues of Deborah Samuel Yakubu, a Christian student at Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto.

“If our grievances are not dealt with appropriately, we should not be criticized for raising them ourselves.”

The post comes one day after Deborah was killed and burned by her peers for allegedly insulting the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

A recent response has come from senior Nigerian police in Sokoto, stating that two suspects in the criminal act have been arrested.
