Young people from the Nigerian Youth Union (NYU) have joined several citizens in condemning the murder and burning of a 200-grade student at Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto, Deborah Samuel.

Samuel was born on Thursday, de May 12, killed by some angry people at the facility over blasphemy allegations against Pro phet Mohammed.

In response to the killing, the country’s youth umbrella organization praised the governor of Sokoto , Aminu Tambuwal, for his “outstanding” display of proactive leadership in curbing street violence that followed the killing of Samuel.

NYU National President Chinonso Obasi said, the mob action against the young lady was not a feature of a modern state.

He added that it was uncomfortable for students at a teacher training college to whom the nation as a future Teachers and role models should look up to laws.

He also called on citizens to always respect the freedom of religion enshrined in the constitution.

According to Obasi as a secular state Nobody in Nigeria should give another allowed to impose his religious beliefs.
