Delta Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa Mourns Olubadan of Ibadan –

  • Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has joined other prominent Nigerians to honor the memory of Oba Saliu Adetunji
  • Oba Adetunji died on Sunday , January 2 at University College Hospital, Ibadan, after a short illness
  • An influential monarch in southwest Nigeria who ascended the throne in March 2016 was Late Adetunji the 41st. Olubadan of Ibadan

Asaba – The Delta Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has with Governor Seyi Makinde, the Government and residents of Oyo. The state expressed pity over the death of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

In a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, the governor noted that the deceased, ninety-year-old monarch was a courageous leader and worked for the development of his kingdom and beyond.

His words:

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta I pity the government and people of Oyo State, the immediate family of the Olubadan, the Olubadan-in-Council, and the traditional Oyo State Council on the death of Oba Saliu Adetunji, the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“The five-year reign of the late monarch marked a remarkable peace and infrastructural development in his area.

“He will be remembered for his contribution to peace, unity and the development of his kingdom and the entire state of Oyo.

” He urged the late royal father’s family, friends , Associates and the people of Ibadan to take solace in the knowledge that the monarch lived an exemplary life that deserves honor and celebration. “

Okowa prayed that Almighty God the soul of the late monarch eternal rest.

Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Adetunji, dies at the age of 93

An influential monarch in southwestern Nigeria , the Olubadan of Ibadan’s land, ascended the throne in March 2016.

He was also the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan.

Like the former Olubadan in 2016 died

Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade, who ruled over Nigeria’s third largest city Ibadan before Oba Adetunji, died in 2016 in sleep.

Oba Odulana had mount the throne in 2007 since the title was elevated to olubadan by Baale Ibadan in 1930.
