Kaduna – The Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Fellowship Ministry distributed food to poor Muslims and orphans in celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

The church said it also has “Barka da Sallah” cash given to children to promote good relations between Christians and Muslims in the state of Kaduna, TheCable reported.

During de r Distributing the articles, Yohanna Buru, Overseer General of th Church said it was crucial to help poor Muslims celebrate the holidays with joy.

He said, it is the church’s practice to distribute food to about 600-700 people each year — but this time it has been increased due to the increasing numbers in the different distribution areas.

Beneficiaries are street beggars, widows, orphans

Pastor Buru said most of the beneficiaries are street beggars, widows, orphans and some internally displaced persons.

The clergy added that the practice , which lasted 11 years, aims to promote religious tolerance, inter-religious dialogue for peace and unity in Kaduna State, and peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians.

He urged wealthy Muslims and Christians across the country to help the needy, widows and orphans to help alleviate their suffering, adding: “We are all brothers and sisters and need each other to live in peace and harmony.”

Eid-el-Kabir: Asiwaju Tinubu sends a special sallah message to muslims

In another report, the APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerian Muslims to demonstrate the true spirit of Islam.

“As we commemorate and celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, may we remember the true meaning of this holiday,” said the former governor of Lagos State.
