FCT, Abuja – The Nigerian federal government said it plans to include the salary package of civil servants shortly, TheCable reported.
This was announced by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Bello, on Thursday 23 June at the launch of the Culture Change Video and Federal Public Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) in Abuja
As communicated by the FCT Minister, President Buhari announced that since ss a committee was set up to harmonize salaries as part of measures to improve the “value proposition of the public service”.

The President further remarked that he has high hopes for the outcome of the committee’s work to provide impetus for an increase in the salaries of deserving officials, having recently increased the DTA for all officials as a starting point.
“As this process is still ongoing, I would like to encourage you to be patient with us while continuing to do your best services to allow us to continue the good cooperation between i.e en political officials and civil servants.
“With our understanding and cooperation strengthened, together we will contribute our quota to the development of our country, and our efforts will not be in vain.”
IPPIS uncovers ghost workers – FG
Meanwhile, Folasade Yemi-Esan, director of public services, says 5,000 ghost workers have been uncovered in the Ministry of Information.
She added that the Director of Human Resources at the Department of Labor was handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) after “1,000 bogus workers” were discovered at the Department.
According to her, the exercise has reduced the payroll of over 100,000 workers who earned illegal salaries to 74,000.
