FG Set to Extradite Abba Kyari to US for Trial over Alleged Link with Hushpippi – Legit.ng

FCT, Abuja – Suspended Deputy Police Commissioner Abba Kyari could be shortly after his connection with US prisoner Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, heading for extradition to the US.

In a report by the Vanguard newspaper, the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Attorney General He rr Abubakar Malami (SAN) issued an affidavit claiming it had sufficient evidence to prevent the embattled police officer’s extradition to the United States.

As In response to the allegations, Kyari says in an affidavit that his crimes are not extradible.

< p class="align-left">The embattled police officer, who is currently in custody on drug-related charges, said the extradition request was an attempt to punish him because he was politically motivated.

The affidavit states:

“I am aware that the crimes mentioned are political in nature and were actually intended to prosecute and punish the accused on the basis of his race and nationality and were not made in good faith or in the interests of justice.”

Kyari further informed the court that he had already launched an intensive investigation into Hushpuppi before being framed and arrested.

The court awaits FG’s response to Kyari’s extradition appeal

He reiterated that his arrest “was aimed at undermining the actions of the defendant against various criminal gangs in Nigeria and internationally.”

It says “that the AGF is convinced that there is nothing to prevent the extradition request.”

Meanwhile, Judge Inyang Ekwo has adjourned the matter until today so that FG’s attorney, Mr. Pius Akutah, can contact Kyaris preliminary objection to his planned extradition.

The court said it would take both the objection and the main complaint together.

Abba Kyari makes serious allegations against NDLEA
