Finally, Ekweremadu, Wife Opens Up on Alleged Human Trafficking in London Court –

  • London’s Magistrates’ Court has denied bail to Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice
  • The embattled couple, who are facing serious allegations of human trafficking pleaded not guilty to the court
  • However, Ekweremadu and his wife were remanded in custody with the court staying the trial until Thursday 7 July strong>

United Kingdom, London – Recent reports have confirmed that Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice, speaking in front of a Londoner District Court have dismissed human trafficking allegations, The Nation newspaper reported.

According to the report, defense attorneys for the defendants, Gavin Irwin and Antonia Gray, spoke in favor of the embattled couple out to secure their bail.

In the Statement reads:

“Mr Ekweremadu denied the allegations of human trafficking in his prepared statement.

“He said he never arranged transportation for anyone with the intention of killing him to exploit.

“His wife denied the allegations in her prepared statement in court also heard.

“He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. He is a director at a law firm that bears his name.

“These issues taken together go well beyond his being a person of good character…rather that he has lived an impeccable life as a civil servant.”

Mr Irwin added that the allegations were “downright absurd”.

Antonia Gray, for Mrs Ekweremadu, said:

“She has never been involved or involved in any alleged illegal trafficking of young people. She is a financial accountant with impeccable records.”

London Court Denies Ekweremadu, Wife’s Release

Meanwhile, the Guardian newspaper reported that the couple were refused bail by the Magistrate’s Court.

It was confiscated that the Court adjourned the case until July 7 while Ekweremadu and his wife remain in custody nd.

However, a statement from the Metropolitan Police confirmed that ths of the duo were charged with conspiring to bring a child to the UK to harvest organs in their home country of Nigeria .

The charge was based on the premise of conspiring or facilitating another person’s journey for exploitation, namely organ harvesting.

However, police said the child is in safe custody with the child’s gender, age or whereabouts still unknown.

Court says teenager with Ekweremadu was homeless

A previous report had shown that the victim was a homeless boy taken off the road in Lagos state.

Ekweremadu and his wife must contact the British authorities convinced that the boy was not forced to give up his kidney.

The case was transferred to Donne Adjourned rstag July 7th.
