Fire for fire: Pastor Adeboye clarifies statement on Christians buying guns, defending themselves – Legit.ng

Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Overseer General Enoch Adeboye has said he has never instructed anyone to purchase weapons for self-defense.

For example, in a speech at the church’s monthly Thanksgiving service on Sunday, July 3, the Bible’s minister Samson, Vanguard reported, used not a weapon, but the jawbone of an axe.

The RCCG leader responded to media reports that he had said that was now “fire upon fire” for any attack on C Christen, as he condemned the insecurity.

Adeboye explained his statement:

“I have never asked Christians to buy guns. Samson in the Bible did not fight with weapons. He used the jawbone of an ax and how do you demonstrate that to the kids? You show them the jawbone of an ax.”

Adeboye urges members not to be afraid

The man of God noted that while Christians are not out to kill someone, unwanted visitors are not welcome in the church, Premium Times reports.

“Don’t buy guns. You don’t want to kill anyone. We just have to make sure unwanted visitors don’t do it. They don’t want to kill anyone.” Come into our churches so don’t buy guns.”

Adeboye further encouraged the congregation not to be afraid to participate in church programs because of the terrorist attack on a church in Owo, Ondo State.

Remember that on June 5th, suspected terrorists attacked the Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, killing more than 40 worshipers and injuring many others.< /p >

Bishop Oyedepo’s Response to Owo’s Attack

Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church previously said that the attackers at St. Francis Church in Owo in the state of Ondo Punis h for their actions.

Legit.ng reported that the renowned cleric, who during a sermon on Wednesday, June 8, at the headquarters of the Church, Ota, Ogun State, expressed anger at the level of insecurity ravaging the entire nation.

Oyedepo issued an immediate verdict on the killers, saying they would perish with their sponsors.
