Full List of Generals, Senior Officers Redeployed, Given New Appointments by Nigerian Army – Legit.ng

The Nigerian Army released posts and appointments of commanding officers-general and others on Tuesday, January 11th.

A statement from the director of Army Public Affairs, Brig. Gen. General Onyema Nwachukwu said the move was made in an effort to reorganize and revitalize the army.

Below is the list of those affected senior officers in the Nigerian Army.

1. Major General GA Umelo

Major General Umelo has been transferred from Defense Simulation Center to Defense Headquarters (Defense Research and Development Office).

He was Appointed Director General of the Bureau.

2. Major General V. Ebhaleme

Major General Ebhaleme should remain in the defense area administration. However, he is now appointed Director of Support Services for the agency.

3. Major General GB Audu

Major General Audu has been transferred from the Defense Administration to the Nigerian Army’s Resource Center.

He has also been appointed Senior Research Fellow.

4. Major General HE Udounwa

Major General Udounwa has been transferred from Army War College Nigeria to the newly established Special Services and Programs Department at Army Headquarters.

He was also appointed Chief of Special Services / Programs (Army).

5. Major General MT Durowaiye

Major General Durowaiye has been transferred from the Politics and Plans Department of the Army Headquarters to the Administration Department of the Headquarters (Army).

He has been appointed Director Veteran Affairs Directorate.

6. Maj. Gen. AE Attu

Maj. Gen. Attu has been transferred to defense training and operations from the Politics and Plans Department of Army Headquarters.

He has been appointed Director of Peacekeeping Operations.

7. Major General UT Musa

Major General Musa was transferred from the Ministry of Administration (Army) to Headquarters 81 Division.

He was appointed as commanding officer general.

8. Maj. Gen. CU Onwunle

Maj. Gen. Onwunle has been transferred from the Directorate for Automated Computing to the Department of Communications.

He has been appointed communications director.

9. Major General OO Oluyede

Major General Oluyede has been transferred from the Politics and Plans Department of the Army Headquarters to the 6th Division at Headquarters.

He was appointed Commanding Officer General.

10. Major General LT Omoniyi

Major General Omoniyi has been transferred from the Civil-Military Department of the Army Headquarters to the Operations Department of the Army Headquarters.

He has been appointed Director Campaign Planning.

11. Major General OJ Akpor

Major General Akpor has been transferred from the Nigerian Defense Academy to the Directorate of Defense Information.

He was appointed Director Defense Information.

12. Major General AA Eyitayo

Major General Eyitayo has been transferred from the 7th Division to Defense Headquarters.

He has been promoted to Campaign Planning Director appointed.

13. Major General LA Fejokwu

Major General Fejokwu has been transferred from the 81st Division to Defense Headquarters, Department of Standard and Evaluation.

He was appointed Director Standard and Evaluation.

14. Major General JAL Jimoh

Major General Jimoh has been transferred from the Nigerian Army Artillery School to Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command.

He was appointed head of training.

15. Major General HT Wesley

Major General Wesley moved from Chief of Staff to Headquarters of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

He became Administrative Director appointed.

16. Major General JO Ochai

Major General Ochai moved from the Operations Department of the Army Headquarters to the Armaments School of the Nigerian Army.

He was appointed commander.

17. Major General SG Mohammed

Major General Mohammed was transferred from the 6th Division to the Politics and Plans Department of the Army Headquarters.

He has been named assistant director of policies and plans.

18. Brigadier General AS Maikano

Brigadier General Maikano was transferred to the 82nd Division by the Nigerian Army Welfare Insurance.

He was appointed Commander Finance and Accounting Department.

19. Brigadier General LA Lebo

Brigadier General Lebo moved from the headquarters of the Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery to the headquarters of Army Training.

He became the Deputy Head of Training (Linkages / Integration) appointed.

20. Brigadier General MO Ihanuwaze

Brigadier General Ihanuwaze has been transferred from Defense Headquarters to the Nigerian Army Budget.

He became Director of Budget and Accounts.

21. Brigadier General O Adegbe

Brigadier General Adegbe has been transferred from the Nigerian Army’s Training and Doctrine Command Headquarters to the Army’s Civil-Military Headquarters.

He has been appointed director of psychological operations.

COAS Yahaya sends a message to newly appointed officers

Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, den Army Chiefs (COAS) who approved the appointment urged all newly appointed officers to justify the trust placed in them Engagement in their new service double dates.

The Army Chief added that newly appointed high-ranking officers must ensure added value in their respective commands and appointments.

No fewer than 234 other military personnel were promoted. The promotion came barely a week after widespread suggestion that the Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor, had asked no fewer than 50 military generals to retire.
