Full List: US Updates Travel Advisory, Cautions Citizens against Travelling to 14 Nigerian States

  • The United States has advised its citizens to reconsider traveling to Nigeria due to security concerns
  • In an updated travel advisory, the US government lists 14 . states in Nigeria that their citizens should avoid if they have to travel to the country at all
  • Borno, Yobe, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta and nine other states were listed in the recommendation with various safety concerns

to travel to states in Nigeria due to various security concerns.

The travel advisory updated on Monday 23 August rated Nigeria at level 3, which means that US citizens are advised to to reconsider traveling to Nigeria.

It added that some areas are more at risk than others.

In The advisory also listed security concerns common to all 14 states that US citizens are advised against.

3. Adamawa (northern part)

The notice also indicates that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to COVID-19. The level 2 health authority has moderate levels of COVID-19 in the country.

According to the notice, there may be a risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms , in Nigeria, if one is fully vaccinated with an FDA-cleared vaccine.

Meanwhile, Uche Secondus, the national leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has president Muhammadu Buhari asked to declare “a national state of emergency” because of the security crisis in Nigeria.

Secondus said that everywhere in Nigeria, from north to south, it was no longer safe.
