Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has offered Mary Ekpa, a Distinguished Corps member and state award recipient, automatic state employment as a reward for her merits and humanitarian service to the state.
The Corps member was selected from among the 725 outgoing 2021 Batch “B” Stream 1 Corps members at a Passing Out Parade organized in the Muhammadu Buhari Square , Lokoja.
Governor Bello, in his address, urged Corps members to make efforts to make Nigeria a better place through themselves less service, devotion to duty, honesty, integrity and accountability.
Governor Bello said, “I am pleased to note that you have contributed to the state’s socioeconomic development in a variety of ways, particularly in rural communities where most of you have served. We appreciate the sacrifices you have made to bring about these developments to raise the living standards of the numerous communities in Kogi State.”
He noted that their specific contributions in Primary health care, provision of quality education and rural infrastructure, and advocacy for the Sustainable Development Goals have been critical in supporting and advancing the government’s transformational agenda.
Governor Bello added that their commitment would contribute to different host communities must have endeared them to the customs and traditions, which consequently broadened their perception and understanding of a united Nigeria of our dream.
Previously, the Kogi State NYSC Coordinator, Rev. Mrs. Williams Mofoluwaso Adebimpe, reiterated the fact that the era of exclusive search for ac h clerk jobs was over and urged them to put to good use the various skills they learned through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Program.
She pointed out that many of her predecessors, the listened to this advice that today’s business owners and employers are workers who make a huge contribution to the country’s gross domestic product.
The highlight of the event was a cash gift of 10,000 each # To all outgoing Corps members by the Governor of Kogi State as part of their transportation grant.

Meanwhile, a group, GYB Network 4 Asiwaju, has assured the national leadership of Tinubu Support Groups (TSO) that arrangements have been made to support the state for the presidential candidate All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver 100 percent.
The assurance came on Tuesday, July 5, when the Kogi State Coordinator of the GYB Network 4 Asiwaju, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, visited the National Coordinator of TSO in Abuja, Hon. James Faleke.
While Ametuo is the Group’s Coordinator, the acting Deputy National PR -Secretary of APC, Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka is the National Coordinator of GYB Network for Asiwaju.
