Highlights As Osinbajo Represents Nigeria at ECOWAS Summit – Legit.ng

Last week, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo traveled to the 61st Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS State and Heads of Government to Ghana.

Remember that the Vice President is popular in the sub-region because he represents President Muhammadu Buhari in style at all times.

The vice president who served Nigeria at regional events with aplomb and Elan, befitting only a global leader, were well represented, exchanging pleasantries with other West African leaders and giving interviews to international media outlets.

The Nigerian Vice President joined at the event other West African leaders, who have been updated by the ECOWAS Mediation and Security Council on political developments in the region and the Sahel.

Osinbajo and other ECOWAS -Leaders updated on the issues of insecurity, challenges related to youth unemployment and the impact of disease and pandemics on social tensions in the region.

On the sidelines of the summit, Professor Osinbajo also attended a meeting of the five West African countries involved with “The Abidjan – Lagos Corridor Highway Development Project”, a flagship project ect of the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA).

The project connects the capitals of five West African countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria) and extends about 1,028 km.

Vice President has since returned to Nigeria.

Osinbajo, Sanwo-Olu praise Airtel as telecom giant to launch Smartcash PSB

In another report, Osinbajo and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended Africa’s leading telecom operator, Airtel, for the launch of its Smartcash PSB innovation.

Legit.ng reports that Telco launched mobile money services on Thursday 30th June at Eko Hotel, Lagos.
