Asaba – The Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) named Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as the top performing infrastructure development governor in Nigeria 2021 on Thursday, October 14th his colleagues to emulate him.
The governor was also accepted as an honorary member of the institution at the 19th International Conference on Civil Engineering and the Annual General Meeting in Asaba, the capital of the Delta. < / p>
In his remarks on that occasion, Okowa urged the country’s engineers to continually study in order to update their skills in order to adapt to the increasing challenges in the profession.
He said initiatives for development projects across the country have stalled as government spending has been severely hampered as much of the available resources have been used to combat and contain COVID-19. < / p>
Okowa regretted that Nigeria’s fall was exacerbated by the free fall of the naira, rising inflation and rising external debt, while national and sub-national governments faced the dilemma: declining revenues in the face of rising Infrastructure development costs.

Governor Okowa is interested in developing entrepreneurship in Delta

Governor Okowa stated his government’s intention when he did received the executive members of the Edo / Delta Chapter of the Association on a courtesy visit at Government House in Asaba.
