Insecurity: Anambra State Govt Begins Registration of Transport Operators – Legit.ng

  • To ensure the situation is addressed from a security perspective, all road users are expected to be registered in the state

Awka – The Anambra State Government has initiated biometric counting and registration of all transportation companies and organizations announced , and operators in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement from the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, and signed by Sylvia Tochukwu Ngige, Assistant Director/Head, Taxpayers hnet Education and Awareness Team on behalf of the Chair.

According to the statement, the exercise, which is in conjunction with OneID, a subsidiary of Appmart Integrated Limited:

< blockquote>“aligns with Gov. Charles Soludo’s vision to nip the state’s recent security challenges in the bud.”

Participants include transportation stakeholders, the shuttle buses, tricycles, the popularly known as Keke, operate trucks, including mini-trucks, tippers, trucks and taxis.

The exercise, which began Thursday, June 2, will be held at designated ports to be announced by union leaders.

The statement urged all stakeholders to comply within four weeks of June 2, 2022.

< p class="align-left">It warned:

“Failure to comply will result in confiscation me after him.”

Anambra state has been the victim of terrorist attacks by “unknown gunmen” killing hundreds of residents, destroying dozens of homes, police stations, government offices and vehicles in Set on fire and thousands displaced from their ancestral homes in the last year.

In most cases of the incidents, the attackers use unregistered vehicles.

The move is widely seen as an attempt by the state government to nip the attacks in the bud.

Biafra Day: Unknowns evict students from Anambra School

Arms fell on nearby schools and some parts of the Idemili in the state of Anambra and chases students out of the classrooms.

The Gunmen also stormed markets and public squares to evict people, saying it was “Biafra Day”.

Police agents kill 4 unknown gunmen in Anambra, intensify hunt on others

Meanwhile, police agents in Anambra say they have killed four of the gunmen terrorizing different parts of the state.

According to police The four were brought out during a firefight in the Umuchu community in the state’s Aguata district.

This was announced by state police commissioner Echeng Echeng during a press conference held on Aug Monday, May 23 at Command Headquarters in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area.
