- President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to continue to obey the law while his government strives to end the uncertainty in the country
- Buhari announced this in Lagos on Thursday June 10th during his one-day official visit to the State of Excellency
- However, the President said he was not committed to any form of crime and tolerate criminal activity in the country
Iddo, Lagos – Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed his government’s determination to end crime and criminal activity in the country.
The Nation reports that Buhari said his government would not be gentle with those who attack police personnel or infrastructure.
President Buhari addressed the security handover in Lagos on Thursday Equipment sent to the command of the Lagos State Police by State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his one-day official visit to the state.
Daily Nigerian also reports that Buhari repeated that his primary responsibility as the Federation’s Commander-in-Chief is to protect all Nigerians and their property.
He also swore that his government would “take firm and decisive action against all persons would instigate or carry out attacks on our police and other security personnel “
I will not tolerate the destruction of public infrastructure
Buhari warned against this that a nation that turns its police force and infrastructure into targets of violence and destruction is a nation on the path of self-destruction.
“As Commander in Chief, my main responsibility remains the security of the land and the security since all citizens. Despite the many challenges we face, I want Nigerians to be sure that we will secure this country.
“We will secure our infrastructure, our highways, our communities and our forests, and we will be the lives of our people. ”
Buhari also told members of the Nigerian police force that while the government strives to improve its welfare and skills, it has similar expectations to them.
“First, I would like to thank the Inspector General of the Police and the entire force for the recent efforts to restore peace in Praise the troubled parts of the country.
“I have instructed the Inspector General to do everything in his power to restore the morale of his officers and men, especially after the senseless violence in the community ng with the # EndSARS protests and the recent spate of attacks on police stations in some parts of the country. “

It was reported that Buhari said the ruling party is conducting a new statewide registration for its members at the parish, local government, and state levels as a result.
The President stated that the aim is to ensure that the legacy of continuity continues beyond his term in office.
