Maiduguri – Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno state on Wednesday January 12th, claims that Boko Haram still has two local administrative districts, Abadam and Guzamala, Daily Trust reports.

The governor announced this during an interactive session with the Senate Army Committee who paid him a courtesy visit to the government building, Maiduguri.

In another Vanguard report, Zulum expressed concern about the growing presence of the Islamic State of West Africa (ISWAP) in some parts of the state, especially in the south of Borno.

According to him, ISWAP fighters climb checkpoints between Damboa and Biu, where they collect taxes from the communities.

He said:

“Another problem is that two of our local government headquarters are still under the control of Boko Haram terrorists, Malamfatori in Abadam and Guzamala local government . We want the owners of these two local governments to take over, that is, the Borno State government and the two local governments. “
