Aba – The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked William Kumuyi, General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, to suspend his planned crusade in Aba, the commercial city of Abia state.
The crusade, titled Jesus Power for Extraordinary Breakthrough, is scheduled to take place in the Merchant City between Tuesday, May 24th and Sunday, May 29th.
Cable newspaper quoted Emma Powerful, IPOB spokeswoman, as saying that the crusade was canceled due to the insecurity in should be exposed to the region.
According to Powerful, gunmen could disrupt the Crusade and blame IPOB.
His words :
“We would like to advise Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life Ministry to take note of the security situation in the South East while he comes to Aba for his evangelism. Let him and the Crusade organizers make sure nothing happens.
“The security in this region is not good due to political and criminal activities, so we advise him to stop this crusade for security reasons.
“IPOB will not allow anyone to die because of this Crusade to take place in Aba. The operations of criminals acting as unknown gunmen infiltrating the events are high and they will blame IPOB.
“We ask him to pray for an end to the insecurity in the Biafra country , if he can. We charge Christians and men of God in the land of Biafra to engage God in fervent prayer to expose all those behind the insecurity in our country.”
The Banned Separatist Group instead asked Kumuyi to pray against evil leaders and saboteurs in the country.
The group added:
“They are the real problems of the people. Let him take the opportunity to pray against the forces holding people captive in Nigeria at his church in Lagos.”
Soldiers kill four unidentified gunmen forcing homestead in Aba
< p class= "align-left">Recall that on Wednesday May 4th, four gunmen were killed by soldiers from the 144th Battalion, 14th Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Aba.
The incident occurred around 2:00 pm in the Uratta, Aba area of the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway.
The armed men, the black clothes suddenly marched through popular streets and markets, forcing vendors and local residents to hold a two-day sit-at-home.

Meanwhile, while insecurity continues to mount in the Southeast, gunmen have three of the Chairman’s relatives Killed in Ikwo eatery Ebonyi State Governorate, Steve Orogwu.
The terrorists stormed the Chairman’s home in Ekpaomaka on Tuesday evening, May 17, but failed to hit him at home.
The intruders shot dead three of his relatives and the security guard on duty.
