Unidentified gunmen suspected of being kidnappers have reportedly kidnapped Umuahia-based journalist Chuks Onuoha, reports The Nation.

It has been gathered that Onuoha was abducted from his residence in Ohuhu in Umuahia North LGA, Abia State.

Vanguard reports that Onuoha is a former Abia correspondent for the newspaper The Sun war.

The commune general president Suleiman Anyalewechi confirmed the sad incident to journalists.

Anyalewechi announced that the secretary of the commune informed him last night that that some men had taken Chuck’s Onuoha.

He explained that they were not sure what was up until this morning when the kidnappers contacted the family that he is in their care.

According to a report by The Punch, his kidnappers have since been in contact with of the family and allegedly demanded a ransom of N10 million.

In another Development, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese, Jebba, Kwara State, Rt. Rev. Ad erogba, his wife and his driver were abducted by gunmen along the Oyo/Ogbomoso expressway on Sunday June 12.

It was reported that the cleric and his woman were kidnapped on the way to Yewa, Ogun State, when the gunmen stopped the vehicle transport and ordered her into a waiting car.

The horrific incident was confirmed by the police spokesman in PPRO Adewale Osifeso State.
