Just In: Good News As FG Is Set To Recruit 1 Million Nigerians – Legit.ng

  • Meanwhile, the commissioner representing Ekiti at the NPC, Mr Deji Ajayi, says the government will also use statistics from the census, to plan for the needs of Nigerians

Ahead of the 2023 national census, the federal government has plans to recruit approximately one million Nigerians to conduct the Exercise decided.

This was announced by the officer representing Ekiti at the NPC, Mr. Deji Ajayi, at a press conference announcing the trial count to be conducted in the state in preparation for the main count in the announced next year, reports Daily Trust.

According to him, reliable technological innovations were encouraged by the NPC for conducting the exercise to prevent politicians and interested elites from hijacking or manipulating the process.

Ajayi explained the importance of census in nation building, said vital statistics would be used by private organizations to plan recruitment of young Nigerians by knowing the number of active population.

He said:

“The government will also use such statistics to plan for our youth, students and the health needs of Nigerians. You will also know the number of seniors that should be cared for.”

“The biometric technology captures your face and fingerprints and goes to the server and any similar information provided is noticed and deleted immediately .”

FG Begins Trial of 2023 Population and Housing Census in Ondo, Reveals New Strategy

Legit.ng had reported that the national population Commission (NPC) has announced that it will begin a trial of 2023 Population and Housing Census in Ondo State.

The Federal Commissioner representing the state, Diran Iyantan, announced on Wednesday, June 29, during the state-level training workshop in the state capital, Akure.

The commissioner claimed that the exercise took place in five areas of each of the nine local governorates of the state would take place. According to Iyantan, the areas where the exercise will take place are Northwest Akoko, Southeast Akoko, South Ose, Idanre and Akure, East Ondo, Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo, Odigbo and Ese Odo.

He revealed that the exercise was in preparation for the major census that would be held in the country.
