Just In: Gunmen Break Into Ogun Church, Abduct Worshippers, Demand N50 Million As Ransom –

Armed men suspected of being kidnappers entered the Heavenly Church of Christ, SBJ Oshofa, in the Wasimi in Ewekoro Local Governorate of Ogun State and kidnapped two worshipers.

The victims of the attack are a community shepherd, Oluwaseun Ajose, and a Sunday school teacher, Dagunro Ayobami.

Daily Trust reports that the four gangsters left the church around 11pm on Monday rushed in and took the two believers away.

A source revealed what happened

A source revealed that the church was in a remote area that allowed the crooks to operate unhindered.

It was determined that a joint police and local vigilante security team combed the surrounding forest in search of the kidnappers.

The community leader confirmed the incident, revealing the kidnappers’ claim

The parish priest, Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

He also confirmed that the kidnappers contacted the church and demanded N50 million ransom have.

Ehuwaojomo said:

“When my assistant called me almost two hours after they left, the kidnappers initially refused to speak to me , but on his third try they talked to me and demanded N50 million ransom.

“Ic h told them that I am a servant of God and receive no salary. I’ve spoken to the Police Commissioner and they’re on it.”

Police Respond

State Police Spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi announced that he did not has been informed of the incident but promised to provide an update as soon as possible.
