Gunmen reportedly killed a deposed monarch in Anambra state, Alex Edozieuno, and his driver, identified simply as Chukwuemeka, on Friday September 10th.
< p class = "align-left"> They were reportedly assaulted and killed in Otuocha, Anambra East Local Government Area, early Friday morning.
Edozieuno was one of them the 12 traditional rulers deposed by the Anambra state government, w They had traveled to Abuja with an oil tycoon, Prince Arthur Eze, to attack the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, without permission from t. to see the government.
The state PR bureau, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
He said , Police Commissioner Tony Olofu has ordered an investigation into the matter.
The PPRO said: “The Anambra Police Station Commissioner, Tony Olofu, has led a police team to investigate the scene of the murder along the village of Ikem Ivife by the Ezu Bridge, Otuocha, Anambra East.
“He described the incident as inhuman to man and ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
“Preliminary investigations have shown that the victims, a 62-year-old Mr. Alex Edozieuno, a former traditional ruler of the Nkpunado community of Anambra East LGA, and his driver Chukwuemeka (other Names) not yet identified) were presumed by 10 a.m. along the Ezu Bridge in Otuocha en armed men attacked.
“The exhibits recovered from the crime scene include; a Lexus 470 with license plate number Aguleri-1 of the victim and some used ammunition.
